Abbey Road ward panel was established over a decade ago to promote local knowledge of neighbourhood crime and anti social behaviour issues and give residents a stake in how their area is policed.
Quarterly in-person meetings, with around 20 attendees, include residents, the Abbey Road police team, Councillors, council officers, private security, as well as other stakeholders, and are held at convenient neighbourhood venues to facilitate problem-solving. Social housing residents regularly update us about the impact of crime and antisocial behaviour taking place on local housing estates and recent victims of crime are welcome to attend (by arrangement).
We strive to ensure the composition of the panel reflects the demographics of the area and are proud to have recently recruited our first Youth Rep.
As requested by the Mayor of London, we set and review priorities for our local police team at every meeting, and these are currently in relation to robbery/theft snatch, residential burglary, and vehicle-related antisocial behaviour and drug offences.
Occasional vacancies arise for panel members. Kindly contact the chair, Louise Shaw, for further information at louisemshaw@hotmail.co.uk
